Kohru (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Kohru mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By downloading or using Kohru, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

When you use Kohru, we may collect the following categories of information:

  • Name, email address, and password when you create an account.

b. Usage Information

  • Features accessed, study sessions created, and time spent using the app.

c. Device Information

  • Device type, operating system, app version, language, and IP address.

d. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

  • We and our third-party service providers may use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies to understand how you interact with Kohru and to improve performance.

 

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account.

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Kohru’s Services.

  • Process subscription payments via Apple App Store and Google Play.

  • Communicate with you, including service updates and promotional messages.

  • Personalise your experience.

  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.

You may opt out of promotional emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link.

 

3. Payments and Subscriptions

  • Kohru offers paid subscriptions with a three (3) day free trial. After the trial, your chosen plan (monthly, 3-month, or annual) will begin automatically unless cancelled.

  • Payment and billing are processed securely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment details.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period.

  • Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple or Google in accordance with their policies.

 

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party service providers to help deliver our Services. These may include:

  • RevenueCat (subscription management)

  • Firebase / Google Analytics (analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring)

  • Authentication providers (account login and verification)

These providers may collect and process data as described in their own privacy policies.

 

5. Data Storage and Retention

  • Data is stored securely on servers located in the United States, Australia, and other jurisdictions.

  • We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide Services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Legal Compliance: To comply with laws, regulations, or court orders.

Kohru is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for general audiences, including students in high school and university.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

  • If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
