Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Kohru, including:

  • The Kohru iOS mobile application

  • The Kohru Chrome browser extension

  • Any related services (collectively, the “Services”)

Kohru is operated by Kohru (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

 

1. Eligibility

Kohru is intended for individuals aged 13 years or older.

If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements.

 

2. Accounts & Authentication

You may access Kohru by:

  • Apple Sign-In

  • Google Sign-In

  • Guest Sign-in

Authentication allows access to certain features and subscription entitlements.

However, authentication does not mean that your session data is stored on our servers.

 

3. Data Storage & Data Loss Risk 

 

3.1 Local Storage Only

All session data, productivity records, streaks, settings, and related usage data are stored locally on your device or browser.

Kohru does not provide automatic cloud backups of session data.

Signing in with Apple or Google does not guarantee cloud storage or cross-device syncing of your session data.

 

3.2 Deleting the App or Extension

If you:

  • Delete the iOS app

  • Remove the Chrome extension

  • Clear your browser storage

  • Clear your device data

  • Reset your device

  • Log out (where local storage is cleared)

All locally stored data may be permanently and irreversibly deleted.

This applies even if you signed in with Apple or Google.

Your account authentication does not restore deleted local session data.

 

3.3 No Data Recovery

Kohru cannot recover, restore, or reconstruct deleted local data.

You acknowledge and accept that:

  • Data loss may occur if the app or extension is deleted.

  • We are not responsible for restoring lost session history, streaks, or productivity data.

  • You use the Services at your own risk with respect to local storage.

 

4. Subscriptions & Billing

 

4.1 Paid Features

Certain features require a paid subscription.

Subscriptions may be offered on monthly or annual plans. Pricing may vary by region.

 

4.2 Payment Processing

Subscriptions on iOS are processed through Apple’s App Store.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements.

We do not collect or store payment card information.

 

4.3 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

 

4.4 Cancellation

You may manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store account settings.

Deleting the App or Chrome extension does not cancel your subscription.

Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple in accordance with Apple’s policies.

 

5. Chrome Extension Functionality

The Chrome extension may:

  • Block access to selected websites during active sessions.

  • Require browser permissions to function.

If permissions are revoked or browser storage is cleared, functionality may be affected.

Removing the extension will delete locally stored data.

 

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services unlawfully.

  • Attempt to bypass blocking systems.

  • Reverse engineer or decompile the software.

  • Interfere with the operation of the Services.

  • Share paid subscription access.

 

7. Intellectual Property

All software, content, branding, design, features, and related intellectual property rights are owned by or licensed to Kohru.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence for personal, non-commercial use.

 

8. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted availability

  • Error-free performance

  • Prevention of distraction

  • Specific productivity results

  • Protection against data loss

To the fullest extent permitted by law, all warranties are disclaimed.

 

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Kohru shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of data

  • Loss of productivity records or streaks

  • Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

 

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Services.

Upon termination, your right to use Kohru ceases immediately.

 

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.

 

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
